12th Fail review

Manoj Kumar Sharma’s (Vikrant Massey) journey through Union Public Service Commission exams is truly inspiring, showing both conviction and academic acumen to come out victorious. After Dushyant Singh (Priyanshu Chatterjee), the new DPS principal, forbids instructors from permitting children to cheat during “borad” (board) exams.

An eight-year-old boy from Chambal, Madhya Pradesh, fails his examinations for 12th grade. Manoj finishes third-class the following year and heads off to Delhi to take his Civil Services test, but lacks the intellectual capacity to succeed; in fact, he’s unaware of even knowing about UPSC or IPS profiles! The story follows Manoj as he struggles to keep himself afloat while chasing his dreams with help from friends, tutor Anshumaan Pushkar (Medha Shankar), and Shraddha Joshi (Medha Shankar).

Manoj’s story spans from his misguided upbringing, where he couldn’t distinguish right from wrong, through his difficulties and need for change, to the audience’s experience as they share in both the successes and failures of Manoj as they move into his final leg of interviewing; tension grows steadily until finally arriving at an interview full of silent pauses and backgross.

Vikrant Massey does an outstanding job of portraying the challenging character of Manoj with skill. From anger, defenselessness, and desperateness to turn the situation in his favor, he portrays the role perfectly.

Priyanshu Chatterjee shines in his brief role of DCP, whose courage lies in honesty as he encounters Manoj as his superior; their exchange demonstrates their acting talents beautifully as they both pride themselves on encouraging young men along their ideal paths while showing respect to a senior figure. Also notable are Geeta Agrawal Sharma and Harish Khanna, who play his parents roles, respectively.

Conclusion

12th Fail will leave you feeling both motivated and amazed, making for an outstanding viewing experience. Kudos to Chopra for making sure each character, no matter their background, brings out their full potential throughout.
