USES OF 5 SENSES IN ACTING

Use of 5 senses in acting

  • If you want to be an actor for a living, you should learn about the five senses and what role each one plays in the craft. So, we’re going to talk about them in more detail in this section.

  • Our eyes are what make it possible for us to see. We can figure out the level of depth and make sense of new information just by using our eyes. Find out what colour the waves that are bouncing off of our surfaces are. If you were an actor, you would only act to make someone see. If your role required you to act to make someone see, but there was no one around, you would only act to make someone see. When people talk about their “sight sense,” this is what they mean.

  • Smell is the ability to tell what things smell like by using your nose. We can smell the scent of anything, whether it’s a dish, a perfume, or a liquid. Imagine you are an actor whose job is to smell a dish. Since there is no food on the set, you have to act as if you are smelling the dish even though there isn’t any food there. One way to reach this goal would be to use one’s sense of smell.

  • Five different textures can be felt because of the sense of touch. (muffled, silky, and granular)

  • They can taste by eating or drinking. But you should also try to get them to think of new and interesting ideas. One thing that can be experienced through the sense of smell is perfume.

  • Sound: Using sound in a performance can help the audience visualise the fake objects and props being used in the performance. Silence, which is the complete lack of sound, can also be very effective in a dramatic presentation.
